“Suburban Folk” es el nombre de la primera exposición individual de GR170, referencia ineludible del graffitti periférico de barcelona y cuya obra se desarrolla asumiendo ésta distancia ciudad-periferia como parte fundamental : Su carácter va ligado al concepto del extrarradio y las características físicas de los escenarios exteriores a la gran ciudad. Así, muros de hormigón, autopistas, vias de tren o imponentes fábricas abandonadas se convierten en su hábitat natural.
Obras realizadas sobre distintos formatos y técnicas, que incluyen la pintura o la escultura y que conforman una reflexión sobre la post-contemporaneidad y la estética urbana actual sin perder las señas de identidad del graffiti.
“Suburban Folk” is the name of the first individual exhibition of GR170, unavoidable reference to the peripheral graffiti of Barcelona and whose work is developed assuming this city-periphery distance as a basic point: Its character is linked to the concept of the suburbs and the physical characteristics of the external scenarios to the big city. Thus, concrete walls, highways, train tracks or imposing abandoned factories become their natural habitat.
Artworks made on different formats and techniques, which include painting or sculpture and that make up a reflection on the post-contemporary and the current urban aesthetics without losing the identity of graffiti.
